The muscular system is the series of muscles throughout the body that move the skeleton, maintain posture through steady contraction, and generate heat through cell metabolism. Without muscles you wouldn't be able to open your mouth, speak, walk, talk, or move food through your digestive system. There would be no smiling, blinking, breathing. You couldn't move anything inside or outside of you. The fact is, without muscles, you wouldn't be alive for very long!
